This was something that Chiranjeevi learnt the heard way after joining politics. In fact, even his brother Pawan Kalyan too had a taste of this. After that, Chiranjeevi merged his Praja Rajyam party with the Congress and Pawan Kalyan vanished from the political scene. But once the election time approached, a new party called Jana Sena was founded by Pawan Kalyan. Where the brother’s party called for social justice, Pawan Kalyan said his party’s objective was to question the system.
However, they do have one common point. While Chiranjeevi had to face some criticism, Pawan Kalyan is being bombarded by criticism from various quarters. Recently, Pawan targeted TRS leader KCR and said ‘thata teesta’ during a public meeting. Known for his acerbic comments, KCR retorted to making a villain out of Pawan Kalyan. He countered by saying, ‘aadevado cinema actor... naa thata teestanantunnadu... Telangana gadda meeda aadikenta dhairyam... chitikeste veyyi mukkalaipotadu....’ Now, KCR is known to have no self-control while attacking his opponents.
And when he is directly targeted, little said the better. He even likened Pawan to a street dog saying, ‘rojuki padi kukkalu morugutayi’. But the worse was still to come. He tactfully shifted the focus from himself to the people of Telangana saying, ‘nannu kaadu, Telangana prajalni avamana parchutunnadu Pawan Kalyan... aadidi Andhra ahankaaram...’ But the show hasn’t ended yet. Telangana will go to polls on April 30. So, there is still time for Pawan Kalyan and KCR to counter attack each other. And in the process, it’s the people who are being made fools.
Instead of talking about development and issues, both Pawan and KCR are indulging in making personal comments which is not right. Unfortunately, the new generation politicians are making it look like politics is all about personal rivalry.
