The heroines have started complaining that they are not getting their due. While the remuneration of heroes increase substantially over the years, the heroines have to usually make do with consistent figures. Bollywood and Tollywood heroines who have good fan base are demanding that their remuneration should be hiked. This also goes on to show that the gap in remunerations in the film industry is similar to that of other industries.
However, if one were to compare the fan frenzy for heros and heroines, then the heroines surely lag behind. Heroes have a large fan base that goes bonkers for their favourite heroes. That is not to say that the heroines don’t matter. They have their own share of fans and followers who secretly worship them. In fact, on the social networking sites, the heroines invariably garner more ‘likes’ than the heroes. Also, heroines have more fan pages than the heroes. Even the fans of heroes ‘like’ their favourite heroines. So, the heroines are way ahead of top heroes. Closer home, in Tollywood, Kajal, Samantha, Shruti Haasan have the most number of ‘likes’ on their Facebook pages.
