But since Pawan has to talk live, he cannot enjoy that luxury. Surprisingly though, in the case of Pawan Kalyan, he seems to be totally clueless about what he says and equally clueless about what is happening. During his first speech when he announced his formal entry into politics, he confessed that he respected KCR and liked V Hanumantha Rao. Now, many among those present and those watching him keenly on television found it difficult to decipher if he was making fun of them or actually praising them.
But then, that was the first time. He outdid himself the second time around. Those who heard him were left speechless. He said despite being a political party, he or his party members would not be contesting during the forthcoming elections as he did not want to help other unworthy candidates secure votes. Now, in a democracy, where politicians go to people for votes and contest in polls to represent their followers, this was a total bouncer even for seasoned political analysts.
That apart, he announced that he decided not to contest from the Malkajgiri seat to support Lok Satta head Jaya Prakash. Ironically, it is the same JP, who after desperately trying to strike a poll alliance with BJP, TDP and even AAP to ensure his Lok Sabha seat, was forced to file a nomination without any support. Now, are we supposed to believe that Pawan is unaware of the ways of this power-hungry politician or uninformed about the recent sting operation by a popular TV channel where the true intentions of JP were revealed by his own party member?
And how can one ignore that Pawan who claims that his fight is against corruption, has gone to campaign for the BJP in Karnataka where its ex chief minister Yedurayappa was forced to resign after the illegal mining scam was uncovered. Another major glitch in his present stand is his support for TDP. It clearly proves that Pawan is not looking ahead.
Won’t Babu try to snub him if he gets voted to power? Will Pawan who is supporting the TDP now, call the same Babu corrupt in 2019? Will he still retain his charisma in 2019? But Pawan does not appear to be thinking on these lines. If his goal was 2019 elections, then why start a party now with absolutely no agenda? Going by his present performance, his emerging as a viable force during 2019 elections seems highly unlikely…
