He may not win the electoral battle against Modi in Varanasi, but Kejriwal did manage to pull off a victory against Modi in another department: ‘assets’. In the assets declared to the election commission, Kejriwal came first with joint assets of Rs 2.07 crore in his and his wife, Sunitha’s name. Modi comes second at Rs 1.64 crore. The Congress candidate, Ajay Rai came third at Rs 94.8 lakh. Bu here’s the catch! Modi declared the name of his wife as Jashodaben, but did not give details of her PAN number or assets. So, if Jashodaben is found to be endowed with property, then Modi might win this battle as well. Since he has not legally separated from his wife, her assets would also have to be clubbed with those of Modi.
