BJP national leader M Venkaiah Naidu here on Tuesday made it clear that his party had to forge an electoral alliance with the Telugu Desam Party to protect the interests of the State and the country. Speaking to mediapersons in the State party office, Venkaiah Naidu exuded confidence that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance at the Centre and the BJP-TDP combine in the State would bag majority of seats to form governments.

Venkaiah also confidently said the NDA would bag more than 300 parliamentary seats in the country. Alleging that some vested interests have launched misinformation campaigning on the so-called Third Front, the BJP leader recalled that even if governments formed by a patched rug like Third Front would not survive more than a few months leaving the people of the country in lurch. He appealed to the people to reject such rag-rug parties outright and vote for the BJP and its allies for the stable and performing government at the Centre. Alleging that the TRS had tried for a tie-up with his party, Venkaiah Naidu said the former was leveling baseless allegations against the BJP because it did not succumb to the demands of the regional party.
