At a time when there is a mad scramble for the tickets to contest elections, irrespective of their winning or losing, former minister Dokka Manikyavaraprasada Rao appears to be a happy man for not getting the Congress party ticket. On Monday, Dokka said he was not unhappy over the party denying him ticket and he would not quit the Congress under any circumstances. Apparently, he has come to a feeling that there is no point in wasting time and money in contesting elections on Congress ticket this time, because he would anyway lose the elections.

Reacting on the candidates’ list announced by the Congress on Sunday, Manikyavaraprasada Rao said there was no question of his leaving the party. “Though the party has not given me ticket, there should be equal priority to Malas and Madigas and he was ready to be a coordinator between them:, he said. The former minister said he would work for the victory of Congress in the Seemandhra region.
