Info Post
Despite the purists being revolted by this ground reality and constantly hoping that the situation would change, for now, it’s a fact that every vote comes with a price. The current rate varies between Rs 500 and Rs 1000. However, in some crucial constituencies the rate has also rocketed to Rs 2000. So the latest news from Guntur is that the Narsaraopet MLA candidate has upped the price to a range that is unreachable by his opponents. For many years, the constituency has remained the home turf of TDP leader Kodela Sivaprasada Rao. However, this time, the constituency has been allotted to BJP as a part of the poll alliance. After sulking for a very long time, Kodela shifted base to Sattenapalli allotted to him. Now, Nallamotu Venkatrao is contesting on the BJP ticket from there. According to locals, he has increased the vote rate to Rs 3000 at one go. It is being rumoured that he has made a pact with the party cadre across the constituency at this rate. The locals are amused that a BJP candidate is spending that kind of money.
