Among the actors, in Chandamma Kathalu, actress Lakshmi Manchu reportedly got the top billing. Even though Lakshmi performance was appreciated but audience didn't throng theatres, so a industry source claims that director Pravin Sattaru doling 15 lakhs to Mohan Babu's daughter was not really worth enough.
He could saved 10 lakhs by taking a small time actress because Lakshmi hasn't reached a stage, where she could draw crowds on the strength of her name. Even her earlier film "Gundello Godari", she was praised for her acting talent, but wasn't a money and spinner.
