"Present day heroes and heroines of Telugu industry are portraying the worst-ever roles on silver screen unlike in any other film industry," stresses veteran actress Sharada, who won two national awards (Urvasi) as a heroine of Telugu movies. Taking a sharp criticism of commercial flicks that are being made these days, she shared her feelings.

Sharada says that none is really bothered about depth of characters and play of emotions. "Our heroes are always playing Julayi kind of characters on silver screen. Are we like that in real life? Heroines always think that only skin-shows are saviours and indulge in wearing skimpiest outfits," she quips, taking dig at preset day flicks. "Irony is that, neither those Julayi characters nor these daring exposing in provocative outfits are clicking at box office. Only one among hundred is succeeding," Sharada avers. "How long audience feel entertained with these Julayi roles?"

Not just Urvasi Sharada but many senior artists feel that good-old-golden-cinema of Tollywood is gone and no such serious makers are these days. Of course, veterans like NTR, ANR and Chiru to that extent managed to do many variations even in massy roles. But these days our heroes are repeating same characterization with different costumes.
